2018/2019 Term Dates
The John Muir Award
The John Muir Award, which is an internationally recognised award, involves children and adults taking part in: outdoor an adventurous activities; learning about the natural environment around them; learning about conservation of the environment and actively taking part in preserving our wild spaces and encouraging others to do the same.
The project is shared with children from each of our federation schools and will continue throughout the academic year. Children will take part in seven different activities and the wild space that we will be focusing upon will be The Long Mynd. We will be supported in this work by The John Muir Trust and Shropshire Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
To achieve the “Discoverer Award” at the end of the project, children need to have completed at least four full days of activity and shared their learning with others.
